Labour Sponsored Community Development Group in Windsor, Ontario is a non-profit organization committed to the creation and maintenance of affordable housing to meet the growing demands of our community.

About Us

Labour Sponsored Community Development Group is a dynamic organization boasting a successful track record of more than 25 years in developing housing.  Our services and portfolio are constantly evolving to meet the growing demands of our local community.  Due to the volume of services we offer, our staff specialize in specific areas of property management/operational services including member relations, board administration, committee administration, finances/bookkeeping, advocacy and education.

Labour Sponsored Community Development Group is governed by a Board of Directors with a rich and long tradition of social involvement, in particular, housing issues.  At all levels of our organization, LSCDG provides in-depth expertise in property management supported by a committed staff and directors with extensive experience in the field of co-operative and non-profit housing.  Our community based, non-profit status, places resident services at the forefront of our endeavours.

Our Board of Directors, comprised of labour and community leaders, assumed the responsibility of advocate on behalf of the community in order to develop programs that provide the services people need to live and grow.

 

How We Began

Formerly known as CAW Community Development Group, LSCDG became incorporated in 1987.  Since then, our non-profit organization has facilitated the planning, development and construction of twenty-three co-op & non-profit housing developments across Ontario.  Our property management and administrative experience has focused on servicing non-profit and co-operative housing developments, as well as other non-profit community agencies. 

Labour Sponsored Community Development Group supervised the development and construction of the Unemployed Help Centre of Windsor & Essex County Inc., the CAW Regional office, and the CAW Local 444/200 Union Hall in Windsor, Ontario.  Our organization assisted with development of CAW Community Child Care and Developmental Services centre based programs in Windsor and Oshawa.
