Are You in Need of Social Housing?
Housing Information Services (HIS) is a satellite location for the Central Housing Registry – Windsor Essex County (CHR), providing information about social housing and access to applications for rent-geared-to-income (RGI) housing in Windsor and Essex County.
The Central Housing Registry (CHR) maintains a centralized waiting list for most social housing providers in Windsor and Essex County and determines eligibility for rent-geared-to-income housing. This is a free service and anyone seeking subsidized housing in Windsor and Essex County may apply.
Housing Information Services participates on the Central Housing Registry Advisory Committee providing housing related input, liaison, advocacy and communication on behalf of the community regarding social housing access. This maximizes the intended benefit of the rent-geared-to-income waiting list system.
How To Apply
An application form may be obtained from the Housing Information Services or the Central Housing Registry offices. HIS offers one-on-one coordinator assistance to individuals and families in search of housing and will help with completing and submitting the CHR application as required.
Appointments are recommended in order to permit enough time to assist you, however, walk-ins are welcome.

Read the instructions carefully and make sure the Declaration and Consent and Release on the application has been signed by all non-dependant members of your household who are 16 years or older.
Submit your application and supporting documents to our office in person or by mail.
